Flying VW mascots

I regularly get requests to find an original Flying VW bonnet mascot for people.
Let me say that originals are very difficult to find. These are unique to Australia.
There were several different styles available.
I will show you some examples of the different styles.

Here is the most sought after style. Often referred to as "the one with the rocket on top". There were 2 styles of this. One was solid and the other had a slot from the base and through the VW emblem. I am not sure why they had this slot.
The first pic is of an original and a repop. In this case, the repop is made from 2 pieces. The rocket is cast seperatly and soldered on afterwards.
The originals were made of pot metal and they corroded very easily, as can be seen in the pics below. Most originals suffer from this, and there is little you can do to repair them.
There are aluminium versions of this surfacing out of Germany. I have posted some pics of these repops. You can clearly see the loss of definition on these repops.
Lastly there is an unusual version on a car in Germany. I do like that version, but it is a repop.
